Financial Governance

As organizations continue to evolve under new portfolio structures, one thing becomes clear -financial governance can’t be an afterthought!

During a recent transition supporting a defense program, I saw firsthand how critical it is to establish clear financial processes early, especially when aligning requirements across manpower, infrastructure, logistics, and systems.

Standardizing how we collect, validate, and adjudicate requirements, as well as strengthening traceability from requirement → funding → execution, makes a measurable difference in both decision speed and accountability.

What often gets overlooked is that strong financial governance isn’t just about compliance, in fact, it directly enables mission execution.

Curious to hear how others are approaching financial process standardization and transparency across complex portfolios.

Feels like this is becoming less of a 'nice to have' and more of baseline expectation.
